Man, I just wish Filipinos were more invested in football than basketball. I'm happy that football is gradually thriving here but our team needs to be polished and funded as much as basketball. It would be a dream for me when our national team reaches the World Cup.
Fun fact: In October 2013, in a UFL Cup match vs Blue Guards F.C., Phil Younghusband scored 8 goals while James scored 5.
Not so fun fact: Sven-Göran Eriksson benched the Younghusbnd brothers during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

That's why I stay two kilometres away form international football 😂😂😂. Really, no jokes.
For a basketball-hyped country it was so unusual to suddenly become a way more competitive in international football. They made my teenage years appreciate and love the game. I remember watching the azkals led by them during the 2010 suzuki cup (it's not as big as other international cups but it matters to us in the SEA region) and i will never forget cheering for my country in a very strange game i barely know. We didn't get the throphy that year but a new era of football in our country was born. It will be a rough journey but I hope to see the Philippines be on top of the pedestal someday. For us pinoys, these guys are legends. Huge respect!

There are some areas who are introduced to the game but if you look on the Philippines as a whole in terms of sports, football is always over shadowed by basketball, boxing, mma, volleyball, baseball, softball etc. Now everything's change.
